A recent article in the New York Times may have you beating a path to your nearest cocktail bar. And not because you just need a drink.

According to the article, Provocateur, a nightclub in New York’s meatpacking district recently introduced cocktails that purport to smooth, plump or improve skin in a number of ways. Enhanced with antioxidant rich fruits and juices, Provocateur’s cocktails have been created by a bartender and a beauty vendor.

Caution should be advised, as alcohol (with or without health beneficial fruits) can be dehydrating and lead to puffiness. Just the opposite of what you may be trying to achieve. Dr Patricia Wexler, a Manhattan dermatologist, advises that “Nothing in a cocktail will give you younger skin. But your judgment may be impaired and you may see Angelina in the mirror”.
