Although running PhaMix is my job, I do it not only because it helps to pay the bills but also because I love it. It’s very rewarding to help all of you navigate the skin care maze to find products that are safe, effective and that work for you.
I care about what I do so it’s good to hear that my recommendations work. That’s why it was a lovely surprise to open my inbox last week and discover an email from a satisfied customer. Turns out he’d profiled me and PhaMix on a new fashion website called ILikeMyStyle.net. The site was mentioned this month in the NY Times and you can read his review here or posted below.
Thanks to all of you for your kind words.
An Innovative Internet Pharmacy

One of my hobbies is buying sunblocks, cremes, and soaps. This is a city goer’s hobby: I never need to depart the island or assemble a fishing rod to partake in this passion. Hidden boutiques on Parisian and London side streets are my favorite places to spread new concoctions on myself. I have spent hours of my life chatting with petite Old World ladies in New York’s “apothecaries” and chemists. At one point, I knew all of the clerks at Eisler’s on 79th Street by name (www.eislerchemist.com). But sometimes I like to indulge myself at home, notebook in lap, while stretched out on the couch. And the perfect website for this activity is Pharmacy Mix, an online store run by a delightful woman in Canada called Sharmani. Sharmani and I are very much alike: much like my mind, her blog contains pages and pages of insights as to which creams are best for every season, every skin type. On the phone, I’ve posed her intricate questions about the ingredients of a prospective new face wash, a shiny new sunblock. “Michael,” she says, “You will love this one.” The package soon arrives bearing Royal Canadian Mail stamps and the sparkling goods. Like a child at Christmas, I rip open the gift and spread its contents with orgasmic pleasure. Sharmani you were right: I do love it.
