I love reading, but like many people I know, it’s just so hard to fit it in. When I read, I tend to go for fiction – a lovely escape from reality. My husband, on the other hand, has a fondness for all things non-fiction. Whether it’s photography, a biography, social history, economics or philosophy, his reading material is all about learning.
Because of him, I’ve been led to subjects and authors that wouldn’t necessarily be my top picks. Yet I’ve enjoyed reading them, resulting in lively discussions about new ideas and subjects.
On my bedside table now? Too Big To Fail by Andrew Sorkin.
More than just a rehash of the 2008 financial crisis and the events that led to it, Sorkin weaves the real-life characters into a tale that reads like a big, fat, juicy novel. It’s a real life thriller and I’m loving every minute of it. An A+ recommendation – when you’re finished your Christmas shopping and baking of course!
