Michelle Obama and Walmart’s latest alliance to help improve the eating habits of Americans is certainly getting lots of news time. From headlines in top newspapers to making rounds on the blogosphere, this odd partnership may end up being good for the nation.
Whether you’re sceptical or not, (and it’s hard not to be) the move is a step in the right direction. As America’s largest food retailer, one can only hope Walmart’s initiative will help to combat childhood obesity and improve eating habits in general.
Sound nutrition – focusing on fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins and healthy fats, while avoiding processed foods including sugars, lots of sodium and high glycemic carbohydrates – is essential to good health (and can I give a plug to great looking skin?! ).
