I love discovering new anti aging products based on solidly scientific skin care technology. That’s why I was so pleased to find Neostrata Anti-Aging Gel with Fruit Stem Cells.
Fruit stem cells have been of interest to the medical community for some time because of the potential they represent for renewing and rejuvenating tissues. Stem cells, from both plant and animal sources, can adapt and form new cells in the tissue in which they are located, and they also can repair and replace damaged cells by dividing almost limitlessly. Unlike stem cells derived from human embryos, fruit stem cells pose fewer ethical problems for science and technology. And they actually work in human tissues, making them an ideal choice for multiple applications in medicine, including skin care.
PhytoCellTec, the stem cell technology used in Neostrata Anti Aging Gel, is derived from apples, the same plant that gives us the workhorse AHA malic acid (as in M2 Skin Refinish 20%). In fact, the story is quite romantic: an apple from Switzerland (the Uttwiler Spätlauber), long revered for its shelf life and ability to heal itself of superficial scratches, was almost extinct when scientists found that stem cells extracted from it could stimulate human stem cell proliferation by 80 percent and could protect human stem cells against UV damage. The formula has also been shown to significantly reduce the depth of wrinkles in two to four weeks.
The formulation of Neostrata Anti Aging Gel contains 2% PhytoCellTec as well as a blend of Matrixyl3000, retinol, collagen-synthesizing Dermican and a peptide called Quintescine. The gel is oil-free, and ideal for multiple signs of aging in all skin types.
