If you’re a regular visitor to PhaMix, you’ll know that we’re all about great looking skin, and Neostrata is one of the companies we trust to deliver. They’ve formulated a couple of new, complementary acne treatments which are worth introducing to you.
Neostrata Clarifying Gel Cleanser contains 2% salicylic acid (a beta hydroxy acid). Unlike alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids are fat soluble, which allows them to penetrate the oily sebum of the skin and treat inflamed areas much more effectively. This BHA-rich cleanser also treats dilated pores and blackheads. Don’t forget the golden rule of cleansing: go gently. Use lukewarm water and gentle, circular pressure. Do not scrub.
You may also want to check out Neostrata Clarifying Lotion which acts to heal and soothe inflamed skin. Its combination of sodium ascorbyl phosphate (5%) and nicinamide (2%) is clinically proven to reduce pimples. Acne sufferers should never underestimate the power of hydration. Moisture is not your enemy. You may follow this lotion with a noncomedogenic moisturizer to prevent breakouts associated with a glut of dead, dry skin cells.

Thinking about trying the get cleanser. How often would you suggest to use it?
Thanks a lot:)
For James: You could use Neostrata Gel Cleanser daily; 2% salicylic acid is not a very high concentration. However, be cautious about the drying side effects of this product. You’ll want a good light moisturizer, preferably with a chemical exfoliant. Neostrata Oil Free 8% Smoothing Lotion is good; so is M2 Skin Recovery Moisturizer. Best wishes, Sharmani
