I’m not a huge make-up person – some lipstick, eyeliner and a touch of blush are usually what I wear. Yet, every September when I flip through the massive fall issues of my favorite fashion magazines, I can’t help but notice new trends. Sometimes they’re reinventions (purple is the new black?); other times I think they’re downright ridiculous.
As I flipped through magazines this year, I noticed that beauty experts highlighted the following 4 key trends for fall 2012:
- Bold Colors – Taking the lead from fall fashions, stylists are using an unexpected mix of darks, brights and neutrals. This fall is all about finding your own individuality
- Oh Those Eyes – bold, smoky eyes are big for fall 2012, featuring jewel-toned shadows in purples, browns and charcoals. Vivid eyes are often paired with naked or very nude lips
- Bold Lips – Lips go one of two ways this fall – either deeply toned mulberry-wine-plum or soft nude/flesh tones
- Nail Art – Nails are being recognized as an accessory, much like jewellery.
Make-up can be an inexpensive way to get creative with your look. Which trends will you embrace this fall?
