Micellar cleansers incorporate relatively new technology that utilizes micelles to trap oil and dirt on the skin, allowing for gentle cleansing without rubbing. In simple terms, a micelle is a type of molecule cluster with both a hydrophilic (water loving) and hydrophobic (water hating) end. When added to a water based solution, the clusters group together to form a sphere that is water loving on the outside and water hating on the inside. Apply this with a bit of pressure to your skin, and the micelle (cluster) splits open. Remove the pressure, and the cluster closes up again trapping whatever isn’t water (dirt, oil, make-up, etc). Think of it as a mouse trap for dirt and oil.
The Neostrata Micellar Cleanser formulation is enhanced with cucumber extract, which provides soothing properties leaving skin refreshed. Humectant sugars increase the skin’s moisture while providing soothing benefits.
Apply a small amount of Neostrata Micellar Cleanser on a cotton pad and gently cleanse the skin. Remove eye make-up by placing the pad on closed eyelid for a few seconds. Gently wipe off without rubbing; no rinsing is required. Use a new cotton pad for each application.
