Many different skin care products come across my desk claiming to be the latest and greatest, and although I willingly try them, one I always seem to return to is M2 HP Skin Refinish. And, for good reason.
M2 HP Skin Refinish is an easy-to-use serum that uses the high-potency combination of 20% mandelic and malic acids to even skin tone, reduce breakouts and minimize the appearance of wrinkles. Part of a group of active ingredients called AHAs, mandelic and malic acids help remove dead surface skin cells that can cause dullness. By removing the dead skin cells and allowing younger cells to replace them M2 HP Skin Refinish gives skin vibrancy and brightness.
Mandelic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid extracted from bitter almonds and was initially used for its antibacterial properties. This feature helps combat the bacteria associated with acne. It also helps regulate sebum production to prevent new acne from forming.
Malic acid , first isolated from apple juice, is an effective exfoliant as well as an antioxidant that works to protect the skin from free radicals and premature aging. It is also a humectant, providing the skin with essential, non-greasy hydration.
Some alpha hydroxy acids, such as glycolic acid, can be irritating to some skin types. Mandelic and malic acids are larger-sized molecules, which slows absorption into the skin, thereby causing less skin irritation. This unique feature may allow those normally unable to tolerate high concentrations of AHAs, such as those with sensitive skin, to enjoy the benefits of an AHA.
Regular use of M2 HP Skin Refinish encourages:
- An even skin tone (including removal of age spots and freckles)
- Fading of acne scars
- Reduction of acne breakouts
- Elimination of blackheads
- Minimizing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines
- Reducing rosacea symptoms
- Fading of Melasma
As with any skin care preparation, do a patch test first to ensure that your skin will tolerate it and build up use gradually. Since M2 HP Skin Refinish works as an exoliant, it can increase sun sensitivity, so always wear a good, broad-spectrum sunscreen, as found in Anthelios sunscreens with a minimum SPF of 30.
